This is an Anniversary Calendar, a must-have item for fans of Higashiyama Zoo, where you can find the birthdays and arrival dates of the animals living there. This year, it features approximately 280 animals. With this calendar, you are sure to enjoy Higashiyama Zoo even more. Each month’s page showcases charming, soothing designs with animals depicted in a joyful manner. First, try looking for animals that share the same birthday as you, your family, or your friends. If you find an animal with the same birthday, you’ll surely feel a special connection. There will also be many animals you learn about for the first time. Next time you visit Higashiyama Zoo, be sure to go see them. Next, try finding your favorite animals. One of the features unique to the wall calendar version is that it shows not only birthdays but also the ages of the animals. (For animals whose birthdays are unknown, their arrival dates at the zoo are listed.) You might find many animals that are much older than you might have imagined. You’ll surely discover some senior members who have lived much longer lives than most. The endangered species category, which was added last year, is included again this year. You can find animals with symbols such as CR, EN, or VU to the right of their names. These indicate their extinction risk levels, with CR (Critically Endangered) referring to species that are extremely likely to disappear in the near future. This highlights how many endangered species live at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens. The "Higashiyama Zoo Map" shows the locations of animals at a glance and is useful inside the zoo. This map also clearly indicates endangered species, so please enjoy it together with the calendar. Additionally, there are special stickers included that show family birthdays and zoo events, allowing you to create your own personalized calendar! By marking your family’s birthdays, you can spend a happy year surrounded every day by the animals.
